Mergers and Acquisitions

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) can generate huge quantities of work and many companies do not have the resources to undertake.
This is understandable as companies don’t generally run a business which is constantly merging with or buying other organisations.
M&A activity requires qualified financial and legal experts to ensure the technical M&A processes are adhered to. This will ensure the merger or acquisition is a technical success but will not necessarily ensure that the merger or acquisition is a commercial success. The commercial success will depend on meeting or exceeding the business plan which justified the merger or acquisition in the first place. This business plan would cover business areas such as:

Finance
Customers
Employees
Operations
Time plan
Cost savings
New Company business plan
In essence everything hinges on People, Money, Time and Quality. These plans need to deliver their benefit to the business or the merger or acquisition will not be worth while.

All these plans are linked and should not be undertaken in isolation. The finance plan may contain cost savings which are realised when a new operating method starts to deliver the new company business plan over a certain time period. This may require new people in new roles and less people in existing roles.

Whatever happens there will be change to the way the company works and change to the people who work in the company. One can’t change without the other. Blue Moth has practical commercial experience in M&A and can help your business and your people through these periods of great change. Help can be provided in the mechanics of change or the coaching and training of people at the heart of this change.
